As graphic designers, we are analytical and creative when it comes to producing work that we care about. Despite these qualities, however, we often forget that hard work and luck aren’t the only things pushing us to a good and successful life as creatives. So why not reflect on the following privileges and decide which you want to admit to having, whether it’d be a few or all, that may have, in one way or another, aided you in YOUR journey as a designer without realizing it?
For this project, I wanted to address a serious topic: Privilege through a playful and interactive mirror display. I want the initial impression of the display to be fun and positive from afar, highlighted with the vibrant and catchy colours. This shifts once you start to truly read and look at it, as one realizes that it is a serious issue in the design world. As nice as it is to acknowledge our success, it is also humbling to reflect on and discuss these topics amongst each other.
